General Questions
What is the ELAN Community?
The ELAN community site is a closed social network for ELANers only. You can meet here to discuss what you have learned in the courses and more! This is a safe and supportive space where you can meet other ELANers and practise your English without fear of making a mistake in English or discrimination from others.
There are lots of live events for community members to get involved with. These live events are conversation classes, live-streamed lessons, and a drop-in Zoom with a teacher.
Can I study with these courses using my mobile phone or tablet?
Yes, but the experience may not be the same. ELAN recommends that you use a laptop or desktop when possible.
Do the videos have subtitles?
Yes! All video subtitles can be accessed by clicking on the icon. You will need to do this each time you view a video.
How do I access the course I bought?
When you purchase a course you will need to follow these steps each time you want to access the course.
Login
Go to MY ACCOUNT (top menu)
Click on MY COURSES (left side menu)
Select the course you want to access.

Can I upgrade my access?
Yes. You can upgrade at any time. We will offer you a special upgrade price based on what you have already invested.
To receive your personal upgrade price, go to MY ACCOUNT, click the UPGRADE and follow the instructions.
Once your upgrade request has been received we will send you an email with your personal upgrade price. There is no obligation to buy. If you want to proceed then we send you a personal discount code.
How do I update my payment details?
If you need to update your credit card details or switch your PayPal account, you can do so by going to My Account > Click on “My Subscriptions” > Click on the “View” button > Click on the “Change Payment” button.
This will take you to a page where you can safely update your credit card details or switch your payment method to PayPal.
How do I cancel my Community Membership?
You can cancel your Community Membership at any time. When you cancel you will continue to have access to your course for the remaining time in your plan.
To cancel a subscription login into your account and go to the ‘MY ACCOUNT’ page located at the top of the screen. Select ‘My Subscriptions’ from the left-hand menu. From your list of subscriptions choose the subscription you wish to cancel and click VIEW. Then click CANCEL.

Pronunciation Course Questions
What’s the difference between the subscriptions plans?
The only difference is the length of time you have access to the course. All subscription plans offer instant access to the entire course for you to work through at your own pace. You just have to choose how long you want to spend working on your new skill.
What is included in the course, is it just videos?
No, it’s not just videos. This is a fully comprehensive course designed to ensure student success with a mixture of interactive quizzes, video lessons, over 5000+ audios, images, pdf downloads, and lifetime access to an exclusive Facebook group.
Who is this course for?
Anyone who wants to improve their communication skills. Current students come from a wide range of backgrounds and professions. Both native and non-native speakers.
How long will the course take?
There isn’t a clear answer to this question because it depends on you, the student. We have a saying “Rome wasn’t built in a day” this means that it takes time to build great things.
Technically you could get through the entire course in a week, but if you want to master this new skill then it takes time and regular practice. On average, students use the course resources for between 3 – 6 months, but it truly is a personal journey.
Remember, you can always start small (weekly) and switch your subscription plan later if you wish.
I want to keep my accent but I'd like to speak more clearly, can you help?
There are over 40 different dialects in the British Isles alone and many international varieties of English. Accent is an important part of a person’s identity and no-one should feel the need to lose their accents. Clarity of speech however should be encouraged and can be achieved while retaining your unique sound. The pronunciation course teaches the general sounds of British English (RP), many of which will be sounds found in regional accents as well. The course also provides many exercises to encourage clear speech in general. Therefore, this course can be useful to all speakers regardless of accent.
